Until I visited the Faroe Islands, I had never seen grass-roofed buildings - a tradition that dates back to the Viking Age. I took this photo in the city of Torshavn because I loved the framing of the roof, building, stone wall + tree. I wanted to capture the charm of these buildings and loved the stark contrast between the soft grass roof and the black walls of the structure.
